Following the problems in the financial sector in the UK and US,
uncertainty has now hit Japan.

In the last 7 days the Origami Bank has folded,
the Sumo Bank has gone belly up and the Bonsai Bank
announced plans to cut some of its branches.

Yesterday, it was announced that the Karaoke Bank is up for sale
and will likely go for a song, while today's share's in the Kamikaze Bank
were suspended after they nose-dived.

While Samurai Bank is soldeiring on following sharp cuts, the Ninja Bank
is reported to have taken a hit, but they remain in the black.

Furthermore, 500 staff at the Karate Bank got the chop and analysts report
that there is something fishy going on at the Sushi Bank where it is feared
that staff may get a raw deal.

My mate borrowed £20 from me the other day. Apparently I'm now Britain's third biggest lender.

Don't trust banks any more, so I've withdrawn all my money and hidden it in my trousers..... I'm hoping to get a lump on my endowment....

Are you expecting a large deposit?

I'm afraid my assets received precious little interest this year....

Yes but you'll lose your interest if you withdraw.

Look at the bright side, if John McCain somehow manages to get "elected" in the same way G.W. did, you could have another 4-8 years of this kind of financial affect oozing out from our shores...

BTW... I'm willing to be adopted by anyone in Europe or the Netherlands should that Jerk win the elections. I certainly don't want to exist as part of a nation that's turned its back on being human.

I thought that was only if you withdrew early?

Better make it The Netherlands Craig, not that we wouldn't welcome you here but the UK is in almost as much deep doo-doo as the US :D !

Well, I for one would welcome the news of my bank disappearing into oblivion as I have about £15,000 debt with them - would love to get off without paying that!
