I have a 1st edition of it at home.

as far as i am aware, it is now well and trully out of print, as it was a limited edition. The expanded second edition seems to be freely available.

was there anything in particular you wanted to know?

Try Magic Books by Post - http://www.magicbooksbypost.co.uk, the books scroll past the bottom half of the screen and if you click on it you get all the details.

The life and mysteries of the celebrated Dr Q is still in print. I'm mainly curious as to whether it is a worthy read. C Alexander was renowned for some shameless cash ins (which made him the most well paid mentalist in th USA for many years), I just want to be sure this isn't one of them.
The David Charvet book seems to be only available directly from the author, was hoping to find a copy in th UK to save on postage.

well, If your looking for useable material, i wouldnt get the Dr Q book on it's own, as the bulk of it deals with outmoded radio techniques.
there are one or two bits of workable material in there, tho again, it needs updating.
however the charvet book is a damn good read, and you will enjoy reading his facinating life story. and, as an added bonus, you get to read up on the Dr Q acts.( with annotated notes )

Not so much looking for usable material. Mainly just fascinated by the man. I'm going to start wearing a turban on stage so I too can get away with a huge radio earpiece!!
I'll give the DR Q book a miss for the time being then and just pick up The man who Knows.

The Dr Q as well as Dr. A acts can likewise be found in several older tomes including the William Larsen Sr. "Magic & Mentalism"... it's some of the first material I ever studied and when it comes to "the basics", a wonderful collection of tools.
