Hi there,
Once again, thanks for all your help. As I said in my first few posts, I've recently got back into magic, and aim to focus on card skills to start with. A recent purchase of a packet trick requries an Elmsely Count for maximum effect. (I'm not sure if I can mention the trick so I won't). A video demo of this trick is available from www.penguinmagic.com and I can email the link if anyone would like to see it to help answer my question.
My question is regarding the Elmsley Count. The instructions tell me to pull of the first card with your thumb on your empty hand, then make the 'special move' (again, I'm not sure if I am permitted to say what - but you will know what I mean) - with the thumb on your right hand holding the remaining cards - pushing it towards your other hand with the 1st card in.
However, on the video demo, the guy seems to just slide off the cards with his left thumb. Is he still doing an EC as I've learnt it? Or is this another 'count'? It looks like it might be easier to learn to start with.
Hope this makes sense!
Thanks!
