Yeah got these recently - excellent. The markings are a bit hard to see if you are too far off but seated at a table they are no problem at all. They advice reading them two marks at a time to break it up and I find this to work very well.

I think the Wayne Dobson effect is the easiest to work with. You get plenty of time to see the marks. You can easily lean in and point at your card saying "this is my card" or whatever whilst actually looking at theirs.
If you do this effect it's a PERFECT place to try your influencing techniques. If the two cards match off the bat you claim it as a specific effect and move on. If it doesn't work you do the effect as written. You can't lose.

got mine last week, wow. Did what everyone did and tried to work it out before reading the book and couldn't see it. So good, so glad I got it. As soon as you start playing with the system there are loads of possible revelations and routines. Best ESP deck I've seen. Now, how long can I hold out before I get the DVD........?

With regards to the markings, I can assure everyone that is having trouble with it that it does get easier with practice. (Unless, of course, you have poor eyesight, in which case it will probably get worse!) Once you get used to the cards, it takes a quick glance to read the back; I now read them instinctively, getting a 'feel' for it almost. Bit hard to explain, but just practice with them and you will soon get it.

While I'm on, I can highly recommend Magicbox's Submodalities DVD; it contains some quality material for use with this deck. Excellent.

The problem I have with this deck/markings are that when I received the deck I sat for ages memorising the markings, then went about showing a few people a couple of effects and all was great. Now I see this post and I remember to get the cards out and Blam, back to the start, I have forgotten the markings. Now this is a standard problem for me, as I am only a hobbyist I don’t get to perform all that often so am always forgetting my effects. But I guess this is the life I want to lead as a poor amateur, maybe if I put in more performing time my memory will get better..

Ho Well

If you have trouble with these cards, you could always try the cards that come with Entertaining ESP. They're very easy to read and the way that they're marked maked remembering what is what, dead simple.

I agree with our mysterious glamorous Lady - the Entertaining ESP cards (EESP) are easier to read for those of us with aging and uncertain eyesight.

I struggled with Beyond ESP and could never get certain enough to use this deck in the real (and often oddly lit) world. I have no problems with the EESP deck and recommend it unreservedly.

Hello there, this is my first post, I hope me posting here is allowed.

Just a quick question in regards to the actual purchasing of the good.
I know these sorts of posts from new people must be annoying, and I know that this thread is quite old, so please excuse me for resurrecting it.

But, does anyone have any recommendations as to where I can buy this currently? MagicBox are out of stock and have been for a while, nothing on eBay, local magic shop is out of stock and a google search doesn't bring up much.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Never apologise for resurrecting old threads! It's far better than starting a duplicate thread. ;)

Try contacting Magicbox and asking them when they expect to get more stock. Sometimes that can nudge dealers into action; if they know a customer is waiting for a product, it can speed things up. And make sure you pick up Submodalities while you're at it! :D
