Customer Service

Postby Johnny Wizz » Dec 7th, '08, 01:14

A couple of top class bits of customer service I have experienced recently.

1) Mike Danatas shop. I phoned Mike a few weeks ago to say I would be coming down on the following Monday to look at possible additions to my close up stuff. I do a lot of card work and wanted some bits to break it up.

When I got there he had a whole lot of stuff lined up for me, demonstrated everything and then gave me a coaching session with everything I bought. PLUS.... I bought a Fournier deck and he threw in a routine for it, he showed me a cups and balls routine with £5 notes which I am about to put in to my repertoire and gave me a master class in the Elmsley count - neither of these had anything to do with stuff I had bought.

If you haven't been there the shop is an Aladins cave of magic and Mike is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and a first rate magician.

2) Cards for Magic (The Card Collection). I e mailed an enquiry to them about Xmas themed playing cards around midnight on Thursday. I got a reply first thing on Friday. I ordered 4 packs of cards at 2.20 pm on Fiday and the postman delivered them at mid day on Saturday.

Both examples of the sort of first class customer service that makes it a pleasure to do business.

John

Customer service is probably my only consideration when shopping for magic. The other is price(sometimes). Glad you had a good experience.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

It's always good if you can find a shop that treats you well, I've always found cards4magic to be brilliant and because of that I always buy from them if they've got what I'm after.

Another one that's very good is magic box, a few times I've not been entirly sure what I was after, I knew what I wanted to do but just wasn't 100% sure if the props would do the job. I gave them a bell and found them really helpful.

This is a classic example why we need to support the few bricks and mortar magic shops and studio's that we have left these days.

Mike is a great guy and I've personally learnt so much from Mike over the few years that I've know him. I would have NEVER learnt as much just buying mail order so wherever you live, try to get a visit to a shop whenever you can.

I'll be very surprised if you come away disappointed.

I've never had the pleasure of Mike Danata (matron), but Card Collection are, indeed, also very good with their customers. Some companies, magic or otherwise, have yet to realise that treating customers like individuals and providing a great service goes a long way to ensuring their future custom.

Cards for magic has very good customer service. Me and a friend were ordering some cards from them, and instead of a tally ho viper fan back they sent a circle back,
so we sent them an email saying that we got the wrong deck, they sent us an email the next day saying they were sorry and the correct deck was on it's way via first class,
we didn't even have to send the wrong deck back.

I have to say FREEPOST MAGIC have been exemplary in customer service. No questioning about a return that needed to be made and a promise to fully check the replacement item before despatch. And a freebie thrown in for inconvenience!!
