Just a quick introduction. Have been browsing this site for a couple of months and thought I'd introduce myself. I have had an interest in magic since i was a kid, but have recently rediscovered magic in a big way. Mainly thanks to the enthusiasm of my fiance. I have an interest in close up magic, though my interest is now moving towards mentalism (or card magic with a mentalist edge) due to the influence of derren brown (I have just finished reading both his books which I had for Xmas). I have managed to reproduce some of his effects with my own twist to them.
I am just working on devising an effect with a pendulem which on audience member holds, and moves in a certain direction depending on whether the card (unseen by me) is either red or black/has the name of a dead or alive person written on it.
I have found the site extremely helpful and hope I can provide something to it (though I would only class myself as an amatuer as yet).
