Red Nose Day

Postby Mandrake » Mar 13th, '09, 10:20

Those in the UK will probably know that today is Red Nose Day, something which you either love or loathe but aside from that, it was interesting to hear Ronan Keating on the radio this morning describing the recent ascent of Kilimanjaro by a bunch of 'celebs'. Apparently their few leisure hours at night involved playing card games and being entertained by Gary Barlow and Ben Sheppard, both of whom are good at card magic. They both go up in my estimation!

Same here, got mine in a "french plat" (apparently) too.
Only dropped £10 for the cause so far, will send some more over watching the show tonight.

For the last few weeks, my workplace has been allowing people in on a Monday wearing their own clothes if they chuck £1 a week to Comic Relief. I'm probably going to be bothered tonight by people in work shouting the immortal words "It's for charideeeee!" when they force me to open my wallet.
The same callcenter I work in was asking for volunteers to man the donation phone line all evening. I'm working normally until 10pm, and leaving without taking donations at all. If they stop me, I will point to the money paid for the own clothes days and say that I have been charitable enough.

This may scream of "Humbug!" but at the same time I'm fed up of all of the Chuggers (Charity Muggers on the streets), the adverts on TV, websites etc.

(Must not take hammer into work today, no matter how much I want to disgust people with the human blockhead...)

We've got a Red Nose fancy dress day at work today, I'm sat here dressed as Cat Woman. I love Red Nose day, it's all good fun and a nice way to raise a little bit of money for people who aren't as lucky as we are.

I saw him at Davenports once. We're best mates now. One of those sentences is true, the other is complete nonsense. You decide.

Forget the photo; if I dress up as Batman, will you lick my face? I'll even donate some money to the cause. Because that's the kind of guy I am. ;)

I'm performing tonight for half price (shock, horror) for a call centre while they take donation calls for the Red Nose Day thing on TV and during their breaks etc.

I'll be dressing up as Robin Hood, robbing a bank, and donating the proceeds to charity.

A little late in the day my fried. The banks don't have any money after being robbed by their Executives. And of course they weren't dressed up as Robin Hood - more like the Sherrif of Nottingham.

Whether or not you like red nose day (that's your decision which I respect), comic relief is a fantastic charity which helps so many different people in the uk and africa, so if you've done or donated anything, a heartfelt thankyou from me. And you also get to watch the show tonight guilt free ;)
