When I booked Ali for a lecture in 2002, I didnt expect any hold up. However at the Nottingham Railway Station, I was told by 2 porters guarding the steps down to the platforms, 'You cannot go down there without a ticket!' There was apparently a check being kept on undesirables!! I told them I had to meet an elderly magician who had not been to Nottingham before, as he was to lecture to our Magic Club.
The 2 with great determination said' You cannot go down there without a ticket!!' Where can I get a (platform ticket) from. 'Where do you want to journey to?'
I just want to go down onto---- '
They rang for the supervisor. He came. I explained.
He said, 'Who is this magician?' I told him Ali Bongo.
His face lit up. 'Oh I loved him on TV when I was a kid. Let the gentleman down immediately!!!' The plebs jumped to it.
The Magic Of A Name.
We had a great meal at my home together. Ali then supplied me with the finer details of the Kalanag Triple Levitiation, which I had researched for years then off to the magic club for a great, satisfying, entertaining and full of practical magic lecture. Since then I have discovered the real origins of Kalanag's rig.

Ali's Human Horse Race Prediction, devised for an ending to a PD show some years before brought the house down. Later in a show, I'd written, set in a Wild West Saloon,I came up with my own method of which he approved. And I hope to publish this in my Series 4 of Dear Magician, or possibly, elsewhere.
A truly Great Gentleman, A Great, Creative, Magician, and A Great, Caring, Kindly Man.
