Well I enjoyed it a lot, but then I'm easily pleased.

Can't imagine what someone who hasn't read the comics first would think of it. Utter confusion I guess.

Bring on the over 3 hour long DVD cut!

It would have been an awesome film if it didn't go on for so bloody long! Films should have an hour and a half - 2 hour time limit on them, it just dragged!

Heathen! Ban him! ;) Would The Lord of the Rings have been a better film if it was 90-120 minutes long? I seriously doubt it.

Never liked Star Wars either! God I feel like I'm insulting everyone today..

I dont watch many films. Comedies have to be my favourite, and then I love films like Human Traffic and Trainspotting, I don't even know what genre they fall under

American Histroy X is another!

I could live with you not liking LOTR, the big battle scene at the end of Two Towers was the only thing enjoyable about that trilogy, but to dislike Star Wars......

BLASPHEMY. I now agree with replicants suggestion

Well, I've never watched Star Wars...

Anyway, have a look at this for a giggle.

Finally saw the watchmen movie (and to catch up with what else is going on, Star wars rocks, L.O.T.R can suck eggs. I've never watched the godfather or rocky)

Now I am aware that I am about to rant about this but I can't avoid that.

I knew I wouldn't like the Watchmen movie as much as the comic, but what I didn't expect was that the movie would be THAT bad.

And it was, It was just bad. I doubt you'd know what the hell was going on unless you read the comic, and if you have to read the comic to understand the movie then what's the point of the movie?

Also did you notice that every time they use a line from the comic the actors go all stiff? Comic book dialogue does not translate well into cinema.

Do you remember night owl asking 'What happened to the American dream?' A good line in your head, a good line in the comic where a little less subtlety has to be used as we don't have vocal tone and body language to fall back on. But in real life, who talks like that?

'Those were great times Rorschach great times whatever happened to them' In the comic it was clear Dan was feeling nervous and uncomfortable, trying to be friendly to a crazy old friend who's not part of his life any more, in the movie, he just said it.

Actor: Why am I saying this line?

Director: Because its in the comic!

This is going to be one of those movies future generations look back on and laugh at. Once the shiny graphics no longer appeal and slow motion is no longer thought of as necessary for a story, all this movie will have is it's bad acting and ridiculous story arc.

It could have been done well, they should have cut Dr Manhattan out of the story and have him strictly as a background plot element (changes the power structure of the world, won Vietnam etc) The movie should have been from the point of view of Rorschach investigating a murder, and Night Owl trying to cope with being an ex costumed hero, AND ALL OF IT WITH ORIGINAL * DIALOGUE SO IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE STUDENT THEATER. Thats all the plot you need for this movie, the whole point of Watchmen was meant to be 'What would it really be like if superheros exist?'. That didn't happen here, all that happened was a bunch of blokes in costumes ran around twating each other, and a blue guy went to mars and talked calmly about the end of the world.

I accept the fact that no matter what they did I probably wouldn't be happy with it just like the rest of the comic book freak fraternity, and rightly so. This is the greatest work of the comic book genre and purely for the interest of money the director of 300 pi**ed all over it to bring us his oh so important vision 'Watchmen live and in slow motion.' However I had hoped that the director would have at least wanted his movie to pass for somewhat good even if its 'not as good as the comic good' it could have been better than 'superman 4 bad'.

I saw this with my friend and he said he liked it but wasn't expecting good just cheesy and fun. Thats not fair, if someone was doing a movie adaptation of Lord of the flies, or War and Peace should you be expecting 'cheesy and fun S.F.X orgy from the 'creator' of 300?'

It was just bad, it wasn't 'Not as good as the comic' it was bad.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

On the basis of this, I'm afraid I have to disqualify the rest of your post; it doesn't count I'm afraid.

LOTR wasn't as good as the books. Obviously. But it was a good effort which caught the spirit of them, even if there were a few odd omissions like the return to the shire at the end which was the whole point of the other million or so pages of the book.
