I hope we're not coming across as aggressive, just hungry for information which seems to be thin on the ground.

"We are a Production company" - No website or specifics.
"The GMP Team" - Still vague.
"We are a group made up of both magicians and people with industry experience " - Same here.

Hopefully we'll get more info as & when it becomes available but at this present moment in time it does sound a little like you're a few people based around the world who met on a magic forum, one or two have a background in media & that you are putting the feelers out for a global magic dvd. For a production company with no web presence (or I'm assuming capital) your hope of globe trotting around with a camera & selling the dvd to a very niche market & making a profit seems a little far fetched.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure with more info & trust we'd all want to help out & take part in this but at the moment we know more about Bigfoot than we do about 'the team'. I'm sure people will help once it's a little further developed. If you like you can pm me your number & i'll have a chat with you.

This is seeming less like spam and more like a scam to me. Does anyone have any email correspondence with GMP that they are willing to post?

I urge everyone to avoid giving personal or financial information to these people. If they offer to pay you for anything, I suggest not accepting bank drafts, wire transfers, cheques, or anything that comes through the mail.

This is for the protection of everyone. If GMP turns out to be legit, then this shouldn't be a problem.

I'll happily show them how to do "the glide". For £1000.

And if they're linked to GMTV I also want a signed picture of Kate Garraway.

On what basis can you make this assumption from what has been posted?

I urge everyone to avoid giving personal or financial information to these people

Have they asked for such information off anyone?

If GMP turns out to be legit, then this shouldn't be a problem

Why not give them the benefit of doubt? Guilty until proven innocent?

This is for the protection of everyone

I'm sure that the intention is good but I'm also sure that those who this post is aimed at will have the expereince of knowing how to protect themselves.

I hope we're not coming across as aggressive

I read a lot of aggression in the way that some of the posts are worded and it's not just in this post. It seems to me that a good proportion of the posts made by people wanting our assistance are immediately treated with some contempt.

There's nothing at all wrong with being cautious about doing business with organisations and people but this can be done with politeness and courtesy.

Perhaps we could have a sticky for visitors to refer to and we could simply point them to this reference point if there is a lack of clarity? I'll offer to write one!

I'm not meaning to have a dig at anyone in particular but if you turned the table and read some of the responses from the posters perspective then perhaps you wouldn't be too impressed if you were in their shoes and were legitimate.

After all, we're in a people business ourselves where people skills count!

Hello everyone.
There seems to be some conflict in interest here and we understand that the questions are endless and some that we do not even know the answer for as of yet. dat8962; thankyou for your support. Russpie, we can assure you that we all know each other on a personal and face to face basis and are far from pen pals. As a man with industry experience yourself, im sure you will understand the amount a project can change and the difficulties that can be encountered through out. The capital will be coming out of our own pockets which I hope you will be able to see as admirable. Rob, we are not out to scam anyone. There will be no postal or personal details asked of people whom take part and the people that take part will be paid on the day of filming. Thestoner; if it is the best glide the world has ever seen then I'm sure we can come to some agreement.

All the best,
GMP

What happened to: "Payment will be either a percentage or a one off payment for their regular gig fee or more depending on their involvment"

If the agreement is a one of payment, then it will be dealt with on the day. If it is a percentage or royalty deal then that will be discussed and brought to some arrangment between the performer and ourselves. Magicdiscoman, we are just about to reply :D

Regards,
GMP.

Hello J,

Thanks for your interest and E-Mail. If we may be so bold, can we ask what you could bring to the table and have to offer? Look forward to hearing back from you.

Regards,
GMP.

Hi, I hope you don't see me as a pest. If it was a scam I'm sure they would have given up under the scrutiny of our questions.

I do wish you all the best with this, it certainly is a big job & will take some time to develop. Hopefully when the time is right I may be in touch. Until then, good luck with everything.

Contact us no matter where you are in the world and no matter what you have to offer. Look forward to hearing from; if not working, with you in the near future.

All the best,
