I thought it was but it didn't look like a silver dollar in the movie. It looked more rustic. (that's not the right word...)

Thanks to Google, it appears to be a 1922 "Peace dollar", which can be found at http://www.yourprops.com/view_item.php?movie_prop=20741 if you're looking for a screen-accurate one...

The website that Jean mentions is worth using. I bought a load of replica silver dollars from them a few months ago. They were dirt cheap, look the part and the postage is free anywhere in the world (they also showed up about 10 days after I ordered, so not too shabby).
