CHEAP SHARPIES

Postby Paul Smith » Apr 24th, '09, 22:43

Thought I would pass on that the chain of stores HOME BARGAINS are sellng packs of FIVE Sharpies (four black and one blue) for the crazy sum of ONE POUND. They also (when the moon is right) stock Bicycle cards for about sixty new pence. Oh and while I am on, my local branch of Tesco have started selling those small manilla envelopes that seem so hard to get hold of.

Yay, I love bargains like this! Image
I've never been lucky to catch cheap playing cards though.

If you're looking for Sharpies, The Works is well worth a visit too. :D

Very true. Four of the pastel coloured ones are £3.99 at Wilkinsons but only £1.99 at The Works. The black ones are similalrly low priced.

Sharpies? What's wrong with the good old, cheapo Wilkinsons permanent markers, pack of 4 for a pound, cheap, cheerful and do the job. Or perhaps I'm just an old skin flint.

They and the other own brand items are excellent but, as with Bikes, there are lots of gaffed Sharpies and there's sometimes a need to be able to switch in a regular Sharpie. The big fat Pentel markers are also very useful, lots of surface area to hide crib sheets and other stuff in plain sight  !

Where are all these home bargains stores if i went to the right website it says that there is 170 stores in the uk and according to there map there is not one within 50 miles of me so i presume they are all bunched up like sardines in a can somewhere up north.

Yeah, I had a look too and, being in Kent also, had the same thought. The place I bought some from last was Staples, they had a good deal at the time so bought quite a few.
