I saw Derren last Monday and bought his book of drawings. It really is the most brilliant book I own. After the show Derren very kindly signed all of our books and wrote something cute in mine for me to read on the way home.
Im not just saying this...but Derren is the most gererous man with his time. He was so lovely and good to talk to. And the show was fantastic, except the bit when I cried and had to go outside for a while  . I think he's wonderful.

My wife and I had the pleasure of seeing his Enigma show a few weeks ago in Nottingham. It was the best money I've spent on a night out in many years and my first time to watch him live. He is absolutely incredible. A genuine showman and utterly captivating to watch.

The ending to Enigma is truly astonishing, with layer upon layer of surprises. He had the audience on their feet going mad (me included hehe!) as he closed the show.

He's my hero and inspirational. :D

Treated a friend to see him for her birthday 2 nights ago, we sat front row. She got to go on stage as well - good for her, even if I was jealous ;)

I saw the show in Reading last night and it was, well, sort of OK. I've loved everything else DB has done but this ENIGMA show seemed flat and uninspired. Maybe it was an off night. I've got tickets to see it again in a couple of weeks so we shall see! It'll be interesting to spot how much of the impromptu/off-the-cuff stuff is actually carefully planned and scripted.

The main thing I admired was Derren's ability to take a basic technique (the sort of thing that 90% of the people on this forum would know) and turn it into the key element of a 15 minute routine. At this - he is the master!

indeed - i saw it on thursday,

Spoke to coops after and he said the hexagon is very small in comparison to other theatres, and it doesnt get as good reactions due to lack of people

It was ten time better than the preview shows in chatham though I must say - much more streamlined!

The girl I was with absolutely loved it

Every layperson I have spoken to absolutely loved it

so I am assuming it is mainly magicians that were disapointed

I saw Derren on Sunday night in Plymouth and he was amazing...first time I've seen him live but always been fascinated with him! One thing I want to know (and its nothing about the show so you can read on! :P), Does anyone know whether one of the shows will be recorded and shown on channel 4/released on DVD at any point?

Thank You!!

Edit: Also, I met him afterwards and he was the nicest guy ever! He even spoke to this lad's Dad on the phone! Signed my programme etc too! :D

Previous stage shows were televised on Channel 4 so there's a good chance that this current one will be aired sometime after the tour ends next year. 4OD will probably have the old shows in the archives.

According to Amazon, both Evening of Wonders and Something Wicked This Way Comes are available on DVD.

Well, I couldn't manage it exactly on my birthday, but I'm going for a second evening of joy on 2 July (birthday plus one). Anybody else on that date?
