I might be having a moment of unbelievable stupidity but....

When I've added all the stuff I want to buy, where is the checkout/check basket/whateveritscalled button to let me place the order and pay?

There should be 3 buttons in the top right corner - Your Account, View Wishlist and View Basket. If you're using Firefox, have you got scripts blocked? That often causes things like this not to display. Failing that, try clearing your browser cache, close and reopen the browser. That often helps too.

Nope - not working, but thanks for trying!

I have the "add to basket" and "add to wishlist" buttons, but when I press the add to basket button, the screen refreshes, but no new buttons. When I press "add to wishlist" I'm told I need to be logged in to see my wishlist.

And I'm on IE8 (which might be part of the problem...!)

Ah well, kids need picking up, so much dash. Compulsion to buy knocked back for the first time ever!!!

Hmmm, ok. When you're at a product page and click "add to basket", it should then take you to a page showing the contents of your shopping basket. From the way you've described it, that doesn't seem to happen?

I can understand it saying you need to be logged in for the wishlist bit because it keeps the items you'd wish to buy later in your account details.

I don't have IE8 (because it's by Microsoft and c*** (not the best) by default), so I can't try to reproduce the problem. If IE is somehow stopping the next (shopping basket) page from loading and if the buttons I mentioned aren't there at the top of the page either, I'd say it could be a script blocker. I think the newer versions of IE have ad blocking features. Could be that.

My best advice: Get Firefox as soon as possible. Seriously
