Wow, it's been a while! I started planning out Basic Card Magic last month, but I've been way to busy to start taping anything (which is a bummer - I had hoped to have it ready for Blackpool. Still, four days to go!)
Everyone has made good points so far. The thing to remember is that everyone learns sleights in their own way, it is the job of the teacher to provide as much detail as possible, so that the student can choose which parts to apply to their own learning method.
As I've mentioned, I've got three (or four, depending on your definitions) different techniques, all with their own strenghts and weaknesses; there's the original deep grip left to right, deep grip into dealers grip, fingertips left to right and vertically at face level (for stand up or large group work). These also tie in with the Jordan count, which will also be taught.
I'll keep everyone informed
Take care, Ian
