Hello all

Hey,

My name is Jeremy, and I am from the states. I have been pursuing card magic for about... man about 5 years now. Because I work mostly with sleights I know how much practice is essential to good magic. I have just recently started with a svengali deck and man does that makes it easy ;)

I have never spent money on magic, buying props or tricks and such, because it's really just been a hobby. I think I would like to perform more though and, to that end I am endeavoring to take a look around at the magic that is being practiced by other people out there, and see how my stuff holds up.

I, of course, am attracted to the street magic style. I know that's a bit trendy, but I am attracted to it's accessibility, both for me and a potential audience. I look foreword to poking around the site, learning, and hopefully sharing.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I am afraid that I will have more to learn then to offer. I hope that is not a problem.

Like I said, you're in good company! We all have different levels of ability and talent and even the most seasoned and skillful magish can learn new things. Newcomers can very often spot things which the others overlook so don't downgrade your input - if it's honest and repectful, it will be very valuable to us all.

Hey Jeremy and welcome !

If you are serious about learning card technique, have a browse thru some of the forums here recommending great books to get hold of to get you well on the way!

It's a long road to greatness, and most of us here know how long it can be! But do your practice, then some more - and when you think you've got it right - practice it again !! lol :)

Enjoy

Thanks,

Almost all of what I have learned has been from a short sleight list I found, and then watching people perform tricks. If you watch it over and over you can figure out where the sleight must be even if you can't see it ;)

I think that because I have not learned from any book, my technique is a little off. I also am WAY deficient in the terminology department, and I hate not being able to "talk shop." I think I may just have to cough up the bucks and buy some. I am in college, so the money is tight.

I practice allot, but of course not as much as I should. I am looking forward to spending sometime here, and I think that the recourses offered will be invaluable. Thanks for the welcome.
