So, two books it is... I think. Now, pdf or hard copy? Hard copy sounds nice, but in reality wouldn't it be far less of a headchache to set it up as a download?? Then there's all the postage stuff to worry about with a hard copy...

NB Don't think I'll sell many copies of the kids magic book on here! May have to pop over to the Bunny and start acting nice. :D

Only joking. I'm going to set up a small site and put an ad on Magic Week. Take it from there.

you are wrong...

a) you dont know what i intend to do
b) i am a very devious mentalist
c) you should really stop talking about things as 'fact' without knowing the full story...
:P

Fact: no one has been sued for uploading content protected by a watermark

Fact: if you publish something it will be pirated

Fact: You will not be able to control the aftermarket of your book (second hand sales), so will never be able to prove who uploaded anything anywhere. Therefore will not be able to sue them. Let's say I buy it from someone here.

Lulu makes it very easy to print the hard copy. And hard copy books are lovely. I would do both. Well, I would give away the pdf and sell the hard copy, but you know that :)

mrgoat - you certainly get mine...

show me where i said watermarks? in fact, show me my "method" for marking the pdf additions?

i think you'll find that you cannot...so, keep your theories to yourself please...you seem to keep making this huge assumptions and then stating them as facts when they are not...please stop doing so...

you are of course, entitled to your opinion, but in this case, you are wrong...

Im pretty sure ive seen somewhere where you can just have them printed on demand... quite nice they look too lol....

If this one is to the same standard of The Paranormal Entertainer.... I agree with having your price higher....

Good Luck.....

Well with such a well reasoned argument I stand corrected. Obviously you have published a book using this technique. You have found someone has pirated your stuff. You have sued them successfully.

Sorry to doubt that. I apologise.

nope, i've only stumbled upon the idea recently, in time for my next book...

people have pirated my material before - and ring bound it, and flogged it along side some bob cassidy stuff...cassidy must be gutted...

I'm sure I remember a story from my childhood that involved goats and possibly a troll.

You are a truly talented mind reader Ted! I have had this very story in my head for a few days now.

I have to disagree with most people here and say that I would much rather have one book with both sets of information, for very practical reasons.
I am a successful children's magician, and would be interested in looking at other people's ideas. But whether I would shell out money is a different matter - I know how to routine and structure a good kids show. I know how to market it in my area.
But like many, if not most, entertainers I am always interested in more gigs. If someone gave me food for thought about my main business, and tips for breaking in a new market, that would be valuable to me, and I would spend the money. More information means more incentive to buy.
Also, I tend to perfer purchasing PDFs. This, I admit, is only personal preference. I get them instantly and I have a Sony e-book reader which means that I can carry them with me and read them like a normal book. Good luck with it, which ever way you decide to go. Tony.
