You need to zoom out in order to get the effect of the illusion. If you use Firefox or Safari it'll do it automatically, I'm not sure about IE, but you can always load it into Photoshop or something and zoom out
If you don't believe me, zoom back in and check

I've got a headache now. It's weird though. If you zoom in, the land looks like it's made up of red stripes. Zoom out again and it's green

I saw it straight away, pretty cool illusion! It's like the one with the two different colour squares, but they are actually the same colour... if that makes any sense at all

Oh, is that the one where two cylinders cast a shadow over a checkerboard? That one still gets me. It's an amazing illusion.

Yes, the checkerboard illusion is the best one ever. It beats every other optical illusion I have seen. I show people this and the response is always complete and total denial. Even when they see the proof, some of them still don't believe/understand it. Genius.

Yes, I agree! The mind really does assume with shadows and all. It is fascinating.
