OK so it's about time I posted an introduction from myself!
Now I have posted a bit on the boards here and visit several times a day I thought I better say a proper hello to those who I have not already PM'd or chatted with on the phone!!
Thanks to Mandrake and others for making the boards here such a nice place to visit and keeping up the high standards that are obvious amongst the majority of members!
OK, so 'Spurman' is a mixture of mine and my partner of 8 years surnames....just to get that out of the way, and yes...partner is a she!!
I am 35 aka Simon and the father of 1 and a half kids (Sian aged 2 and 'unknown' aged -4 months!!). I run a computer business down in sunny (!) Devon UK and am also a semi-professional musician: semi-pro now as the computer business is my main 'pro'.
I started being interested in magic as long ago as I can remember! My Nan (now 94!) says she can remember me trying 'pick a card' tricks on her when I was only 4 or 5! I suppose that when I really started LIFE as a young man at grammar school that interest was rekindled by a lifelong friend (who is now a CP) when we used to practice new tricks and sleights on each other! (Better than a mirror huh?!)
So now I always have tricks to hand both in the shops I own and when I socialise (especially at the weekly pub quiz that I run on a Monday!) and am probably never without some coins or a deck to hand. As a result I quite often get invited to do paid gigs at other venues to do some table hopping etc. at other local events!! Gotta love sharing magic....!!!!
