Hi angel1. Thanks for your feedback. I can assure you that no hypnosis was used during the event. As for protection, we did cast a circle of protection around ourselves before each seance which I find is usually enough to keep things from getting too "dark". The circle of protection works on two levels - firstly it is an authentic part of a "Victorian seance" and it also, as you suggest, allows people to feel safe and protected on a psychological level.

I'm pleased that you enjoyed the evening and came away with plenty to talk about! And I can assure you that all feedback is listened to. Thanks for getting in touch. :D

Hi again,

Thanks for your reply. I'm glad to hear about the potection. I usually go through my own ritual but I started to drift and I think I let my own guard down, so I suppose that explains it. I was surprised to see that you mentioned John Dee on the previous page. It gave me goose bumps after the automatic writing, which I've never attempted before!

It was a great event and I'll certainly recommend it to other people.

All the best,
W.

I thought it was a superb evening, perhaps a bit cold being just under tarpaulins for the glass moving sessions but once we got into the room for the sceance things warmed up - in more ways than one! Tappings, knockngs, lots of uncontrollable swaying, the girl next to me almost went base over apex as she swayed back and forth. There were several different levels of activity there and, as usual, all very intriguing and entertaining - nice one Paul!

Thanks Mandrake! Sorry I didn't get much chance to chat to you. I intended to search you out during the coffee break but got waylaid (in the nicest possible way) by guests with a million and one questions!

I could see you were a busy budgie which indicates how well the evening went. The glass moving was good, with the first group they'd hardly placed fingers on the glass when it started skating all over the table! As that building is so very old with a rich history of paranormal events, and the location was right where the Witch's Cottage used to be it's not really all that surprising. Plans are already afoot to go visit the house in daylight and take a tour of the museum, hope you can organise another event there, superb venue!

The venue got in touch this morning. They were very pleased and have booked me in for another evening of fun. This time there's going to be a bit more "gimmickry" going on, rather than last Saturday when it was totally "straight". So next time it's going to be called "Gothic Seance", and I've been given free reign to be as devious as possible! I believe it will be on Saturday December 6th, and will have a "ghosts of Christmas past" type theme.

Crikey. Soon be Chrimbo.

They have no idea what they've agreed to, there shall be no Humbug  !!

(Mandrake carefully enscribes December 6th in his diary, just one day after the Feast of St.Nicholas..... ho, ho, ho...)
