Today's Sun (11.09.09) (at least on-line, not seen a "hard copy") claims to have solved the riddle. They've gone for split screen.

BTW - Before anyone makes any smart remarks, I only visit the Sun on-line to see the girls.

I'm reserving judgement, but am I the only person who believes it possible for the ping pong ball on the far left to have popped up of its own accord? Tightly held, cold studio, hot lights...

If the spectator doesn't engage in the effect,
then the only thing left is the method.

the ball popping up, was just another bit of that MISDIRECTION . It gave him reason to push them down at the end.. Thats all.
and to be honest im not sure it did move anyway.I really can see it myself.

Good Lord... I can't believe that there's so much discussion about this... This is exactly what Derren wants :D

I'm reserving judgement over this one until tonight's show.

And considering that Richard Wiseman & Derren are oft spoken of in the same phrase, I think we all know how he *really* did it!

It's interesting that half a million more people watched this than the actual draw. Maybe he can take over Mystic Megs old slot.
