If you don't know Crazy Man's Handcuffs, I seriously recommend getting an Instant Download on Penguin. I learnt it from a friend of mine -- he showed the effect to me right infront of my eyes, like a dozen of times....I even video recorded on my mobile phone (bad resolution, slow, rigged motions). I watched it more than a dozen of times, practiced it for about hundred times and I finally seem to have gotten the knack of it. I'm still practicing it.
I'd rate this book 5/10...basically the kid-show bits were kind of unexpected. I thought this book would consist of rubber band effects only, but it turned out that this book in fact is not.
Well, having said that though, I'm not entirely dejected. What does this book have?
>A Star is Born
how to make a star out of a single rubber band. Use a star-shaped band and entertain a lady. I'm sure you don't have to know Stargazer -- a single star, when performed right, can grab her heart (I wish).
>Seeing Stars
Produce a Star of David. I'm thinking you could combine this trick and the above, producing Stargazer-like effect. Of course Stargazer is not described in this book -- something you have to come up on your own or purchase the lecture note.
>It's a snap
Torn-and-restored routine using a normal band. Do this quickly and it works.
>The Two Way Stretch
"Look, two moving bands"....which in fact turns out to be really two bands. This would fool laypeople.
>Penetrating Bands
AKA Crazy Man's Handcuffs. This is the most detailed routine in the entire book, but be sure to practice this alot.
The rest of the tricks are basically for kid shows etc...
