Hiya all,
New to the board

I'm a uni student right now who've rediscovered the joy of magic. For some reason I stopped collecting magic tricks when I graduated from elementary school -- but things changed on that day; at this party held at my uni a guy showed up and placed a coin on my hand, hit it with a pen, and changed it to another coin. I bought the trick later online and now let me see, it's been about half a year since then, I have far more tricks than the number of repertoire!
Now about card magics. I used to avoid them, and I don't think I liked anyone who performed it. Very much viased. But this all changed (I'm quite gullible) when I saw someone perform an ID. Now I have....well, many decks

...also this means that now I must face those spectators who hate magicians with a deck of cards!

I still don't know many of the sleights and gimmicks, but so far I've managed to learn a few packet tricks (such as Ultimate Three Card Monte) and gimmicked decks (like Rising Card, Cheek-to-Cheek). I tend to stick to tricks which use easy (or almost no) sleights; afraid to quarduple-lift, afraid to correct-or-false-shuffle, afraid to walla-walla-count and so on. I guess sooner or later I'll have to work much harder on basic sleights though, since nowadays I find it much fun to perform a magic using non-gimmicked decks. Versatility is the key I discovered (though, yet to use it properly). Although there are many card magics that can be done without Lazyman's-shuffle or Trinidad-Bingbang-palm, if I can't do the Quintuple-lift, then I know I'll be missing much cooler tricks which incorporate those various sleights.
Besides magic I like to bury myself in books (C.S.Lewis, George MacDonald, Bible, Psychology, Mythology etc) and music (classical, gospel, hip-hop, Irish traditional, jazz, swing).
Holla!
Tak a.k.a. Gimmick-Onlyist
