Postby SeanTobin » Sep 25th, '09, 11:29

Hi All,

Im guessing you have all seen this video before, I came across it last year and still think its great.

Can anyone tell me what the trick with the vanishing deck at the near end is called? Also, a DECENT coin magic DVD where I can learn the nice coin moves at the start.
Cheers
Sean

Hi sean,

Yes the effect is called "Vanishing deck" can be found with a google search.

A nice coin magic DVD? Well theres loads out there, David Roth has a wide variety of DVDs out there, one of my fav coins magicians and highly recommended, which i think wil suit your needs. Also look at other great coin magicians like David Stone, Homer Liwag.

A not so well known coin magician is Eric Jones

just watch his oxy clean coins routine, think the video is only on you tube at the moment.....simply devine!!

James brown is awesome, I cant see the video as I am at work but I have seen them on youtube before.

His misdirection is fantastic, the coin and card sleights along with his banter makes this to be a truley great routine.

There are a few more videos of his on youtube which are equally great... I think there is one of him in blackpool??

Check them out.

"On the spot" by Gregory Wilson has a similar coin routine on it. Highly recommend this DVD.

Why don't you drop James an email and buy his lecture notes. You'll find what you need to know and a lot more

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
