Routine idea help

Postby Waldorfcartoons » Sep 26th, '09, 13:10

I'm trying to work out a good routine - suggestions appreciated. I've written an 'identifier' on the back of each card - e.g. 6S meaning six spades but they are not on the correct cards. I can link each code to the card's true value based on Si Stebbins.

This has been buzzing in my head for some time and I'm trying to get a good (comedy) routine based on "I'm not very good at poker or card magic so I've written the card values on the back ... unfortunately I had had a few drinks so I've screwed it up as you can see (show a couple)...". However (....)". Any ideas on how I could continue this routine would be much appreciated.

Cheers

WF

Have them all suddenly match. Obvious, but it's the kind of thing that you would do if you were truly magic rather than have a card face change, locate a card, etc etc

Also, you might get a greater reaction if you say you've used a "subtle marking system". I can't say for certain but it could be worth trying both and see which gets the bigger laugh

Yes, thank Kolm, there some potential there.

Maybe if I showed my cheat system 'working' (e.g. by using DL) - doing some random deck cuts and showing a card 'here's six of spades, here's an ace of clubs'. Perhaps after getting spectator to cut the pack. Then letting spec have a go and after he/she has got it all wrong, doing it correctly again.
