Its not as acidic as some of the stronger cheddar's can be.

What's it called?

Ironically I just had some Cathedral City Mature cheedar sandwiches for lunch, oh with ready salted crisps mashed in to it as well as an act of sacriledge.

I remember as a child always eating the chilli flavoured McCoys but I have not seen them for ages. Only salt and vinegar or ribs or something equally MANLY.

I did stumble across some proper Club bars the other day, had not seen them in ages either. Epic win!

Just finished some really really nice Wensleydale with cranberries, bought from the award-winning butcher just up the road. Assorted crackers, butter, and a lump of that, and there's yer lunch.

sounds like a near perfect lunch Robbie.

Marks & Spencer do some delicious Wensleydale and caramelised onion with rocket sandwiches. Have you tried them?

The phrase "caramelised onion" is turning me right off that one... I don't get much chance to go to M&S anyway.

We just got some nice cheddar yesterday. Might have some of that for lunch, now that I've read all this.

For me it would have to be either something like steps maybe, or even bucks fizz at a push. Ooooooo footloose is pretty cheesy and good old Rick...

It's no contest. Got to be ABBA.

Or a nicely aired mild cheddar with a decent bottle of red and some slices of apple.

Sainsburies Deli counter at the moment do a really nice aged Red Leicester. I'm not usually a fan of mild cheese but the aged nature of it gives it an almost blue cheese flavour.

Can't beat a Shropshire blue, stilton or a vintage, extra mature, kick your knackers off Cheddar.

Ooh and Brie

Stinking Bishop is a doozy too.

Raclette, I never get to eat it because I live in a little backwater town and when I can find it the cost is frightening. And it really stinks up the house so I'd get yelled at.

Gruyère. If you've never tried, give it a go. Awesome.

Baguette, a thick layer of Brie, and some sliced green grapes on top. Mmm.

They used to offer that from time to time at the British Council canteen when I worked there.
