The return of Winnie the Pooh: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/arts_and_culture/8283255.stm
There is a new character (Lottie the Otter), Eeyore allegedly has a girlfriend, and Christopher Robin has returned.
I'm not sure if I should be happy or outraged by this. The whole point of the end of the House at Pooh Corner was that Christopher Robin was growing up and going to school so he wouldn't be able to play with his furry friends as much anymore but it would be ok because he (and us the readers) would still be able to visit them (and our childhood) whenever we wanted thus giving the adult us the chance to relive our happy childhood days whenever grown up life was too much.
What does it mean that C.R. has returned? Has he had some sort of horrific accident leaving him with the mind of a three year old? Does this mean that we all can revert to the mindset of a child after an extended period of time? Is this a satire on societies reactions to those with senile dementia? Am I reading too much into this?
