More Ring Magic?

Postby Yano » Dec 17th, '09, 00:56

Hi i've been looking around for some ring magic recently unable to find too much, what I am after is pretty much just ring sleights i guess, not so much as tricks but tricks are ok too. Like normal sleights or sleights that include other objects such as a rope for example.

What i have at the moment is De'Ring, Ring Thing, Interlaced (shows quite alot of sleights). Any thing else you ca recommend?

Hi Yano, just think of the ring as a coin - most coin sleights can be done with rings aswell. Some thimble moves will also work. :) jim

Jim's right, and I find rings much easier to handle than coins because of the shape of them.

Also the World's Greatest Ring Magic DVD might be worth a look.

There's a chapter on rings in "Hugard's Magic Manual" (Dover). This used to be regarded as the standard textbook on sleight-of-hand magic but seems to be almost forgotten now. Shame - it's a very useful book.

Ring Leader by Greg Wilson has some lovely Ring & String stuff if you're interested in that kind of thing.
