Hello there :) (:

Hiya!

Iv been performing magic for 10 years, pro for about 5. Iv worked alot, but i enjoy magic so much! I read, study and perform as many different types of magic as i can. My proudest achievement is being able to pick up a deck of cards and still get the same buzz as when i did my first trick.

My biggest problem with other magicians and the magic society in general, is that when you first started out in magic, and you pick up your first magic box, you don't look at it and think, ''Wow, im goin' to make alot of money out of this'' I belive if you don't feel the excitement and non profit driven buzz you get from doing your first trick when your working, your wasting your time. I know many people will disagree, but thats what i belive

Thanks, Ben

    Hi Ben, welcome to TM!

I'm with you there. I think you've hit a on a huge point for entertainers in general. That was definitely true when I played in bands, and I've found that to be the same in magic. Years later, I find I still have the buzz, and I hope it stays. ;)

    Hi Ben and welcome.

The day you lose that buzz from performing is the day that you should give up - irrespective of whether you're getting paid or not.

I don't think that many magicians start out in magic with the thought of making a decent wedge of money but obviously a few are more talented and fortunate than others and good luck to them.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Don't worry about the ones that don't feel that 'buzz' you are talking about. They are the normal ones and usually don't stay in magic very long.
