Postby morrowsean » Feb 2nd, '10, 00:08

Does anybody know about the new Extreme Burn version 2.0? Meant to be released 1/2/10. What's the differance between this version and the original?

Are you sure that's the release date? We've not heard about it yet in the store and we usually know about effects before they come out.

I'd hold off ordering this until V2 its the shops and then decide.

It's common for V2 of something to just have and imprioved handling without there being any or much change to the gimmick.

I doubt very much though that the effect as viewed by the spectator will look any different.

V2 means Version 2.
In saying V2, dat8962 was referring to Extreme Burn 2.0 and saying he was going to wait until it was actually out so he can see if there's more than just a handling difference before buying it.

I'm wakening an oldish thread but I have to say, it's well worth getting V0.2 because the first version doesn't teach you how to hand everything out for examination afterwards, and this version does, BIG TIME!!!!

Of course, if you feel that it's not important to do so, OR if you can figure this out for yourself, no need to spend another twenty quid or whatever on V0.2.

Don't buy this expecting an amazingly high tech gimmick. It's not about that. What it's about, as far as I'm concerned, is an extremely detailed tutorial from a very clever fella.

Another note: Richard seems to be far more relaxed and confident with this effect in the extra footage (75 minutes of it) than in the V0.1 footage (which you also get, on the same DVD), and kind of teaches how to use the effect in a way that's both simpler yet more convincing. Kind of more subtle.

I only have V2.0 but have never felt the need to hand out the notes at the end nor have I ever had anyone ask to see them.

One word.... BOOM
