Be great to see you there Beardy. I'm sure you could trawl the hotel guide type sites for some cheapo accomodation. If you need any info, just shout.

nice. Hope "he" turns up for you.
:)

Oh, Lizzy stride was known as Long Liz, and Mary Anne Nichols street name, was Polly.
It might get things moving if you use the ladies Nicknames.

I find this interesting too.. Historical gem like this could make for a lively glass. It relates to an earlier murder, from 1888.

On March 28, 1888, while home alone at 19 Maidman Street, Wilson answered a knock at the door to find a man of about 30 years of age, 5ft 6ins in height, with a sunburnt face and a fair moustache. He was wearing a dark coat, light trousers and a wideawake hat. The man forced his way into the room and demanded money, and when she refused he stabbed her twice in the throat and ran, leaving her for dead. It is reported that nearby neighbours almost captured the man, but he found his escape.

Luckily for her, Ada Wilson survived the attack and lived to relate the story to the authorities.

There are four main reasons why this murder could be attributed to the Ripper. First is the description of the attacker, which fits many witness accounts of the Ripper. Next is the use of a knife as a weapon, as well as the throat being the target of his fury. Finally, the term "seamstress", as Mrs. Wilson described herself, was a common term used by prostitutes for matters of self-description.

While I won't be there on the night, if anyone wants to contact me after to get anything verified I'd be more than welcome to. I've got a long standing interest in the Ripper case.

Well another interesting night yesterday (shame you couldnt make it Dale).

I will leave Mr Voodini to fill in the dramatic details of the event.

Well, what can I say? Just so happened that the bloody Baftas were being held on the same night bang in the centre of Covent Garden! So driving through London was even more of a nightmare than usual and parking was, well, impossible. Literally. Had to bung the car in a dodgy looking underground bunker type establishment, and me an Chris were forced to leg it through the streets of London carrying our bags and the seance table!

Some guests arrived late and were told they weren't allowed entry by the Treadwells staff! So I had to deal with an irate phone call at 10pm from the guests who had travelled to London via train, spent £25 each on their tickets, only to be turned away at Treadwells door!

On the plus side, we had some cool activity, most remarkable of all was the light bulb that kept flickering throughout the seance, and once we had ended the night switched on by itself and stayed on. Most bizarre. And despite Chris Beard's comment of "Alakazam", I can assure him that there was no trickery involved at all. Honest.

Odd night all in all. Bookmarked by stress, but the middle was kind of squidgy and frothy and almost strawberry flavoured. Oh, and did I mention the elderly guy with the Jedwood "Who ya gonna call?" t-shirt?

the lateness was the main reason why i didnt book. Sunday transport in and out of london is tricky.. and the tube network is awfull.

Saturdays are much better. And the staff are bound to be in better moods. :)
