hows this for a trick with change bag? ordinary deck of cards spectator shuffles them says any four numbers between 1 and 52 each higher than the last the deal them cards out face down into the bag. you ask them to examine the rest of the deck all the aces are missing they are the choosen cards in the bag.

May I suggest you have a look at using a change cap for this routine instead of the traditional bag, if you have access to such a thing...

sorry to burst your bubble :) but 101 tricks for a change bag has a few routines like this including four cards are picked at random face down and thrown into the bag, when the remaining cards are shown face up there all blank and the cards in the bag are shown to have signatures, zodiac signs etc printed on them.
also the change cap realy works best for small items like switching dice or coins due to its workings.

just got another idea is this a routine you have your mobile write your number on a piece of paper then as many audience members as possobile put there numbers in then an audience member picks one out calls it then your phone rings hey presto!

now that would work great with a change cap especialy if you nick it off a kids head during the performance.

Mate, have to disagree on that... The change cap can work for all sorts of items, not just small stuff. In fact I'd say coins and dice really don't touch the potential of this great utility item.

The change cap dvd even includes a 'card sword' style effect.

I've made fluffy toy mice appear, done an extra stage for my cut and restored newspaper, had about 20 balloons change from white to multi color... And that's just a few of the things that have worked fine.

For a card effect I'd say it's far less conspicuous and 'magicy' than a bag, but then that's just my style... :)

I work in medieval events and here's my new change bag routine (performed with a 3way bag).
I hand someone 8 bussiness card type cards. they read out loud the names on them and throw them into the bag. the names are all people from history, henry the 8th, joan of ark, etc. I tell them that who ever they pull out of the bag is the person I will introduce them to. the card they pull out is my bussiness card. I repeat this a couple of times then, on the 3rd go the card they pull out has the name "joan of ark" on it. I act worried, as if the tricks gone wrong, then pull out a bag, in which there is some ashs and a bit of burnt wood. it takes them a second or two to click on that she was burnt at the stake (unless they are from chatham in which case they just look confused, but hey, thats chatham for you).

But why use a bag? it's going to scream "prop".
You put cards down on a table, not in a bag :?
