un sticking cards

Postby midge25 » Mar 2nd, '10, 20:45

I have just bought an antique set of cards, however they are "sticky" and dont really deal very well.

Is there anything i can use to make them useable and dealable like a new deck?

If you don't want to put your antiquey ones in get an old used deck of bikes and try out with those first.

Cards for magic sell fanning powder.

I have used it to revitalise a 1920's art deco deck and it worked BEAUTIFULLY! Put a tiny amount on the front and back of the cards and gently buff it in... you don't need much. The results are fantastic.

If we can hit that bullseye then the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards... Checkmate!

Try some flour first, that takes all the grease and grime off.
Then use Zinc sterate - LLoyds chemist used to sell it.
