I saw this trick, and I can't find the how-to anywhere.

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

The effect: the magician rubs a the face of a card with his finger tips, and without looking at it, identifies if it's red or black. He does this consistently and correctly without fail.

I've been checking magic sites to see if I could buy it somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it. Do any of you know where I could find this trick? It's a really neat trick, and can be done impromptu without any set-up(i handed him my deck right out of my pocket, and he went right into it).

Thank you in advance.

There are lots of methods. but I believe the most recently advertised version is by Luke Jermay. It's called An Extraordinary Exhibition of Seeing with the Fingertips,

"I want to do magic...but I don't want to be referred to as a magician." - A layman chatting to me about magic.

But it will take time to learn

I was gonna mention Luke Jermay... Not sure if there any people here stalking the listing, but the effect can be found very cheaply here:

Though I do think the presentation seems a bit lacklustre. And the clarification of "look, they're not braille cards, feel, see?" would be the less pressing.. as a magi / spectator my first question would be whether they were marked?

In any case, an Out Of This World presentation would be more fun...

Though I'd get this effect for Jermay's take on OOTW alone...

Love this weather...

It really is exquisite. See some of you Manchester TMers in few hours... got some great effects to show yous...

Is that the one Mr Grue showed Madelon and I on Saturday night at TM VII? We would have been more appreciative but we wanted to sing the theme to The Big Bang Theory instead.

The reason it is a neat trick is because the magician was carefully to keep the secret rather than selling it to any Tom, Dick or Harry.

I do perform the Jermay method, but it doesn't match the one in the OP. I wish I could say more...

Also, I did it on the Friday rather than the Saturday. Was just for you Tomo, for a reason that will become apparent should you ever acquire it...

Now where was I? Ah yes!

The whole universe was in a hot, dense state...
