Name: Club Sandwich
Price: £ 7.99
Type: Card
Examination Time: 1 hour
Reset: 5 Mins (Away from Audience)
Examinable: No
Skill Level: Intermediate
Additional Material Needed: 1 Deck of Blue Backed Bicycle poker cards (not supplied)

Effect: Two cards are randomly selected, one of which is signed by the spectator, both the cards are then lost in the deck. The two jokers of the deck are now introduced and set on top of the deck and with a snap of the fingers you pull off the top three cards to reveal one of the selected cards sandwiched between the two jokers, this card is again lost in the deck, the jokers put on top and again the selected card is brought to the top, at this point the card is turned face down between the two jokers and is given a little shake and it immeadiately transforms into the signed selected card.

Personal Comments: If you buy one card effect this year, buy this one it works exactly as described above, one of the most visual card effects I have bought.
It is very simple to perform and only requires one or two painfully easy card sleights (included in the instructions)to achieve this absolute miracle.

Overall Judgement: One of the best variations on an ambitious card routine ever and it is a steal at £ 7.99.

I heard that there are two handlings of the trick. Which version is shown in the video demonstration on this site? Thanks!

This is the advanced handling, although the easy handling is still very effective.

I realy like this effect and think it's a great way for a beginner to achieve a tranportation/transformation without having to use difficult handlings, these will come with practice, practice, practice.
If I have one gripe it's in the explanation of the handling. In some places the use of the English language is not recognisable, as I understand it, and it took quite a few re-readings to understand exactly what was required. For something like this I expect to be able to understand the instruction after the first reading. Just my tenpennyworth.

I thought that I would resurrect this old thread as it's been one of the regular routines that I've performed over the past couple of years and I just love performing it. What's more important is that the specs love it, judging by the reactions and it's a very easy routine to learn and perform.

Whilst the review at the top uses a signed card, I prefer NOT to use a signed card as I believe that the spec finds it strange that only one of the two randomly selected cards is signed instead of both (one's actually a very simple but cleverly disguided self working force).

I don't find that I need any set up as I use a pass to get the force card into position and the second selected card is random anyway. the other difference between my performance and the printed method is the final revelation where I don't put the cards back onto the deck and I do a transpo in the hand which ALWAYS gets great comments. When you hand the cards out for examination no one EVER wants to look at the Jokers for some reason :?

Anyway, I've just ordered 8 gimmicked cards for this routine in Black Tiger stock from CardMaker so I can't wait for them to arrive. I'll post a video of the routine when they arrive.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
