A good showman+mentalist, in my opinion deserves the TV spot more than Criss Angel...

Oh definitely! I read 7 Deceptions by him and I was quite impressed (despite the odd spelling mistake  )

I never understand why spelling mistakes are so common in magic/mentalism books.

My favorite would be Merlin. He did some crazy things, back in the day.

Didn't Jermay have a tv series here?

I reckon it's something to do with the fact that they aren't released to the general public in the same way that a book on another subject might be so they aren't subject to as much scrutiny under proof reading.

Also, there seems to be an oddly high number of dyslexic magicians :D

I'm not sure...I know he released a DVD a year or two ago. I'd love to see the tv show if he did.

Not that I know of. He did do some filming for a bbc documentary called 'the history of magic' I think. although of all of the parts on youtube it appears most of his performance for the documentary isn't on there, although 'for andruzzi' was.

I didn't relisse he released a public DVD, very interesting. IMDB says he was in a tv mini series in 2004 called 'MAGIC'

EDIT: An after thought, i think a lot of the stuff on youtube of him might be of a show he did called 'mindmagic', not sure though.

The stuff I saw was on a documentary which looked probably from around 2004. It was a series, of course Jermay was in the 'mentalism' section of the show, in the same series there was 'guy hollingworth' for close up magic, if my memory serves me right, his fingers are one of the pictures to represent the video. Two of my favourite british magicians :D I'll give that mind magic thing a google anyway, thanks.

Mindmagic is a good watch! I've spent much of this afternoon searching Jermay on youtube and I think that I might buy his EI dvd from Magic Box this week! :D

I'm sure it is just a rehash of an effect in the 7 deceptions.

Cold Emotion? Yeah I thought that, but I thougght I might ask for a performance of it at Magic Box in Newcastle and see if there's a difference. What do you think?

Go for it. Whatevery makes you happy :D But Cold Emotion is fine to practice cold reading with, as are many effects that you could invent almost on the spot... just saying.

Edantes this will answer your questions:

Review: http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic26088.php

It is an extended version of Cold Emotion with aded phases. It is more a model for practicing your cold reading in a routine than anything else.

Maybe you're right. I think I might practice and perform CE for a bit first and decide whether or not I need anything else.

Thanks for clearing my head :)
