I thought that the magic was mediocre at best but the flute just killed it.

Unfortunately, the act was lacking charisma.

I never watch these shows but that was well worth it as the flute playing had me close to tears with laughter along with Simon Cowell's tomato+banana analogy.

If she could play, I don't think it makes sense having them share the same stage if they are not going to interact in some way. They might as well be separate acts.

Given a little more confidence and flare, I'm reckon the chap could do well on his own.

If so, it will definitely solve all arguments of magic vs genuine...

though I do believe that much of tonight's show was definitely more a "magic trick" rather than being genuine...

I'm definitely sticking with "magician", but very good entertainment!

Though it doesn't show it on the video above, I thought I did see a load. He had his hand in his pocket a lot, and didn't seem to be a struggle to 'bring it up'.

I loved this guy, and wish he made it through. Trick or not, I am stumped.
I would love to go see him live.

Yes, that was quite decent. I wasn't concentrating, assuming it'd be something boring, but I was quite amazed.

Of course I wanted Stevie Starr to go through . I was surprised to see how many others really did enjoy him, I thought he could have made it through, but he had some pretty tough competition tonight, tomorrow's show doesn't look nearly as good. I wish I could have seen what he would have done in the final, sounds interesting, I've seen a video of him on youtube working with fire .

And, about the load, I did see that too, but, I was under the impression that he wasn't really trying to hide it. I felt as if he wanted people to see he put the phone in, swallow it then make it come out again. But that's probably my magician side talking, and first instinct. On reflection, I doubt that was the effect he was going for.

Either way, I'm still happy for Stevie. I doubt he was the sort of act people hated but more of an act that wasn't as popular (if that makes sense), I don't think he's the sort of person that gives you the 'I-can't-stand-them' feeling. He's got it made though, he's already well established and appeared on TV before. The amount of interest he'll get after this will be huge. And he's the sort of act you remember on BGT and I'd assume more likely to book, he's the "guy that swallows things" as compared to "the dance group, that has a Bollywood style yet still a hip and trendy feel to it" or the "street dance group with a one-word name".

Glad no singers made it through tonight though. I like variety....and how about that wood-chopping fella, isn't he something ?

He should've used a smaller phone at the end. I'm sure he wanted it to look like he swallowed it & brought it back but it looked a bit off to me.

Apologies if I repeat anything already written; but I remember Stevie Starr on a programme called Just Amazing about 25 years ago doing his act -made me gag back then too.

Anyone else remember the programme? They do silly stunts like a chap who thought he could jump over two sports cars driving bumper-to-bumper at about 60mph towards him - he couldn't!!!!
