Penn & Teller - London Hamersmith Apollo 14.07.2010

Postby chris2215 » Jul 15th, '10, 09:58

I was at Penn & Teller's opening performance for their limited run at London's Hammersmith Apollo last night. Having been a fan since the early 90's this was an incredible experience to witness their show live. Performing their show in the UK for the first time in 16 years this was truly one not to be missed.

The chemistry between Penn & Teller was electric and their act is engaging, creative and very professional. The effects performed included a mix of comedy, mentalism, close up and geek. What makes this show different is that there is more to it than the magic. It is genuinely entertaining and will make you laugh again and again.

To top off the show Penn & Teller took time to meet with the audience after the show, they both signed my program and got pictures with both of them. I got a real sense that these guys wanted to make sure that their audience had the best night possible.

I would be interested to hear the thought of anyone else who was there or who is intending to go to the remaining four shows.

Lucky b**tard :-p I'd love to see them live. Was good to see them.on Jonathan Ross, though a little disappointing that both the tricks they did I still have on video from when Unpleasant World was shown back in the mid 90s.

I'm seeing them on Saturday night and I cannot wait as it looks like this be my only chance to see them live. I'm going to Las Vegas in late September and as far as I can tell, they're not performing at that time. Neither is Lance Burton.

I jumped at a last-minute opportunity and will be seeing them tomorrow. Whoopee!

My wife and I are heading down on Saturday - really looking forward to it. Saw the Las Vegas show and met with them afterwards (hence my av picture!) - great to hear they're doing the same thing after this show too!!

I was their aswell.I thought it was very well put together and some of the tricks were well performed and stunning.Shadows by teller was great but I didn't think the audience responded in the way I imagined they would.Overall,an amazing show.

Was an awesome show. If I wasn't working on Saturday I'd be very tempted to go back for seconds.

Doing some close up for members of Ocean Colour Scene and some other music peeps.

Wonderful show, including some of their classics and some new miracles, and closing with an essay on wonder and mystery that had the entire audience sitting in rapt silence.

Everyone in this forum who's lucky enough to attend MUST buy a souvenir "Perfectly Ordinary Deck of Cards". Trust me on this.

What? The cards? No, if I explained why, it would ruin it.
