Probably easier to find something for an owl, than for a rabbit. The problem with Kevin Cann and the Rabbit is that he wanted to keep the rabbit in a prop for hours, (there are many, many rabbit transpositions/vanishes/appearances) on the market however given the criteria in this case myself, or anybody I know would not want to help. Except for the situation Dale explained because the prop is built in to a proper carrier.
I don't know much about scope owls but I do know a wildlife rehab person who I volunteer with, I can ask her (and do my own research) on the habits of a scope owl, and then possibly suggest something for you. May take a little time however, busy time where I live.
I am not a huge fan of animals in the entertainment field only because most have no real regard for the animal in question, it is simply a prop. I've read your bio and you seem to have experience in such things so I am a little more willing to help.
