I first saw this trick done by Paul Daniels on one of his magic shows years ago and, not being bigheaded but it didn't take me long to work it out, but I am sure most of you would have been doing it that evening too as it's not a difficult trick to work out if you reverse engineer it!......Anyway
I love this trick but prefer the version done with an ordinary deck (see below), the variations with the rainbow deck etc, in my humble opinion is a one off trick done for a special occasion, and the way I do it is to have the one match on the bottom and the other match third from top and the duplicates on top of the deck. ie if using 4 aces, black ace on bottom of deck red ace third from top other two aces top and second from top, force top two cards.
I bring the deck out and then say "some magicians say that the deck they use is all different, well this one is all different as the backs are all different". I cut the deck holding a break and riffle force to the break and say " we will use the top two cards where you stopped. and go into the trick from there.
PS. As most will know, this is an old principle and it works very well impromptu with any pack of cards as a great effect to do when someone hands you a beat up deck and says " go on then amaze me" Of course you only get the two pairs matching and miss out on the end kicker but this trick floors them with their deck and it can be repeated without them sussing it.....at the two matches can be different every time.....though always remember to get them to shuffle the cards first as they remember shuffling them and it makes it more baffling for them.
If your not familiar with the ordinary deck version PM me and I will run through it!
