4 ace trick

Postby Ninja » May 5th, '05, 19:06

I was bored, so I decided to post a clip.
The trick is supposed to be done by handing the spectator the cards after you shuffle.

They make the 4 piles. Then you tell them to put three cards on the bottom of the pack, and one on each pile. Thats basicly it.

I attached the file to the post. Lesser quality though.

Yeah, it's a really simple trick. Thought I'd start off by posting the simple ones, then more complexe.

Yes, its basically a self working trick that my non magic friend like to pull out of the bag occasionally when I start performing for people, surprisingly it goes down very well with spectators and I have to pull their attention back with the Ambitious Card, OOTW, Erdanase Aces and others.

Simple effects can stun spectators and you really do have to have pleanty behind to come back at them :?

At Christmas I saw a bloody good mentalism trick being run by a father and daughter, one away, one predicting :? After the second time, I got it, and then did a different one which threw them and the other folks watching.

The moral is, folk are getting more attuned to magic. Secrets are revealled every day on TV. You can't always be aware of what people might know, but you can be ready to go one step in front if you have to 8)

The effect is called 'Poker Player's Picnic' and is in Chapter 1 of The Royal Road to Card Magic.

Thanks, I was wondering if anyone new the name. I saw someone do it, and used it, I thought it was a fun easy trick. Especially if you get a spectator to make the piles and put the cards on the bottom and top of the packs.

But thanks a lot! :)

A couple false shuffles before you begin and the specs are convinced...

You could also repeat this with a slightly different version. Cut 2 of the Aces to the bottom before handing the deck over. Ask them to deal the cards one at a time into one single pile. When they've gone through about a quarter of the deck tell them to stop any time they wish. When they stop have them put down the deck and pick up the pile they have just dealt. Tell them to deal the cards one at a time into two piles. When they have done that tell them to pick up the remainder of the deck and to also deal them into two piles. The Aces are on the top of each pile.

Nice Trick Ninja

and as some people said, simple ones are sometimes the best :)

Are you apoker player? I noticed the cards, they're WPT cards arnt they? I gotta a set of those too, and the EPT cards, very collectable if you get some from the finals ;)

Keep at it, very nice

Thanks Mark. I definately am a poker player.
You were in the EPT?

I've been lazy but I've been meaning to post more videos. I have a few matrix tricks that I still need to put together then post, and I'm planning on going out and recording tricks as I do them to people.

Your missed allot out from this trick, such as the starting process, i start off with the 4 aces then make them disappear into the deck before i start. Not bad on perfromance but try and add a bit more tot he start.
