Hey guys,

Some friends of mine make horror theatre in London, and want to have a bit in the show where a candlestick extinguishes on cue. Anyone know of any products around that already do this? It'd have to be fairly finely controlled, ones that just burnt out after a certain amount of time don't really cut it.

Any help would be much appreciated,

What's the scenario Serendipity? Can they have some person or device hidden under the table that will pull the wick down into the "wax" of the candle?

Would this be Theatre of the Damned by any chance? I cant think of any other specialist horror theatre companies in London.

the method in Corinda is probably the most practical. I.M.H.O Though it takes a bit of reset.
Its manual though. I can see how one might be able to rig an electronic pull, to do it remotely.
Im wondering though, if since this is a theatrical event, you shouldnt be looking at electronic candles, rather than a naked flame. They are rather good these days.

It is indeed Theatre of the Damned. I'll mention the remote candles to them, but I'm not sure that's the look they are going for. Naked flame is fine in theatre if you're properly risk assessed and the such.

I'll take a few of your ideas and get back to them, thanks very much for the help.

I wasnt sugesting that Naked flame is a h&s issue. I was looking at it from a purely practical point of view in that unless you are standing right next to the thing, you cant tell the difference.
