I think the mistake you made was trying to catch a train there from Covent Garden, which as any Londoner knows, will take much longer than walking. It is 1.1mile distance between the two addresses which is walkable for many folk. Or if you take out a mortgage you can get on one of those cycle hire bike things.

I can walk all day without problem... time was the issue. I walked for MILES this weekend. 20 minutes is not "near" though. Oh, and I'm not a Londoner, nor is anyone else who needs or wants to know it's (not even slightly) near tourist attractions... like St Paul's.

Can't get a rent-a-bike without signing up to the scheme in advance and getting a card in the post. No "casual" hire. Rates are very reasonable, free for first 30 mins, but no use on an unplanned visit.

As for the site and Google Maps... the former got a quick glance for key information (i.e. "near covent garden") from my phone while planning the day and neither were exactly practical to use properly on a phone. :P

I just find it hard to understand the need to include misleading info on the site. On that point, how can something be "near" a road over a mile long (err... which bit is it near?). That could be as much as a 45 minute walk!

Anyway... their loss is Blackpool's gain. Gonna have to pop over there instead.
