Hi everyone,
I was reading about Dr. Elliott's Bottom Deal in Dai Vernon's Ultimate Secrets of Card Magic. One point that was stressed was twisting the wrist when pulling out the bottom card, and the book went on to say that all bottom deals use a wrist twist. So, I tested out the bottom deal by both twisting my wrist and pulling straight, and it seemed that although the differences weren't huge, both methods had their upsides and downsides. My question is, why is the twisting of the wrist so important? It can make the deal look smoother, but it might show the top and bottom cards in different positions.
Thanks in advance,
