Packaging Quality: The whole package comes in a plastic zip lock bag with the reel itself in a separate bag inside.

Instructions Quality: You are supplied with instructions printed in full colour which are adequate foe explaining how to use this utility device.

Prop Quality: the prop is very well made but due to the nature of it using I.T it is also very delicate and should be treated with care. The reel is very small and therefore extremely easy to conceal.

Initial Thoughts: I have owned a number of reels over the years and this is certainly the smallest that I have had in my possession. The motor on the reel is a little noisy but nothing that wouldn’t be covered by ambient discussion so not really anything to worry about.

The reel operates based on motion, so you can retract the I.T attached to something and when you move the reel so that it is pointing slightly downwards it will automatically retract pulling in the I.T and moving the object that it is attached to.

After Playing for a while: This reel works very well but an important thing to know before purchasing is that due to the power of the reel and the fact that it uses standard I.T, you have to be very selective when choosing which objects to animate. I have found that moving small objects along a table or from the floor to my hand is no problem but this reel would not be suitable for effects such as ‘the haunted deck’ and P.K effects using heavier objects or anything that requires a slow retraction as the motor is very fast.

First Performance: I decided to not take any risks so I showed this to a fellow magician by attaching the end of the I.T, (wax is supplied) to the end of a cigarette and on an offbeat moment I had the cigarette fly across the table to my hand, (and to be cocky I picked up the cigarette secretly lapping it and vanished it) and he was quite shocked considering what had happened over just a few seconds.

Overall Audience Reaction: Animating objects always has a very strong effect on spectators. The speed of the reel makes anything that animates have a more violent/jumpy movement which induces a shock element into your performance.

Pros: Very small, very reliable, battery lasts a long time, mine has not yet lost power.

Cons: Fast retraction means this is only suitable for certain I.T effects.

Value for Money: If you need a tiny, powerful reel this is well worth buying.
