Now, the way i think about this is, if you do what Cardini did and show the maniputative skills with the single ball... the audience will not think about where the ball appears.
Though its true to say that Cardini produces a genuinly magican moment with the one ball, and doesnt need to do anything else.
I too can recomend the Gibson book, as its very comprehensive. As well as this, you should also read Buckinghams its easier than you think, the hugard book, Tarbell, and just about any other book you can get your hands on in this field.
