It's a wonderful routine where two coins are in the centre of a hank and the spec names one, which you then extract from the hank.

It's in The Dai Vernon Book of Magic, something everyone should have!

watched the clip and as usual Ammar is incredible -
OK I'm perplexed by this as I assumed he was using a scotch & Soda / coin Unique type coin set in the hanky and a dupe coin palmed, then use magicians choice to 'extract' the smaller coin. As far as I'm aware though the dollar is the larger coin and he does state that whichever coin the spec choses will be the one he extracts.
Can anyone point me in the right direction without too much exposure? I may have to sell a kidney as my CUPS s already out of control.....

No gaffed coins are used at all, and the hank is ungaffed too.

As well as the Vernon book mentioned by Stewie it can also be found in Bobo and Im sure theres a version in Mark Wilson (Id have to check though). As mentioned no gaffs are used - any hanky and any two coins.

I'm almost certain I've posted on this kind of thread before, but I've had a coin unique (started with a 10p / 2p as they were cheaper) for as many years as I've been in magic ... literally LOVE the things, am still trying to find a £2 and 50p which I saw at a convention once, you know, just to throw magicians off the scent of a "coin unique" trick (as normally they only come in £1/1p or 10p/2p right?)

Love these, cant ever say a bad word about them - especially the Eddie Gibson ones, I got a VERY cheap (like £8) 10p/2p one once, AWFUL, cheap sounding, cheap feeling horrible thing - its totally worth going for quality on props like this.

Magic in Brighton have the £2/50p if you give them a bell. Very nicely done and I think about £40.

The shop keep remarked that the guy who makes them may not make any more as he received a visit from the law who believed he was making counterfeit money!

I used to live in Brighton ... DAMMIT !!!

Might have to give Ross a ring, see if he can get me a few of them (I have nasty habits of spending them hahaha)

Does anyone know how these kind of gimmicks are made? I own several, and I'm pretty certain I'd have nowhere near enough money or be in possession of the means to actually make my own, just a very curious knowledge to know how they are made ... CNC machine I'd guess,, or maybe a very specifically designed jig and drill mechanism? Ideas peeps?

Thought as much, and time is something I dont have much of, not enough to custom craft my own coin gaffs anyways
