Which DVD?

Postby Relish » Mar 29th, '11, 13:07

I understand that im sure each DVD will have its good and bad points, but i wanted to ask which DVD people here preferred / performed more routines from.

I cant decide between

Andy Nyman - Get Nyman
Looch - Your thoughts are Mine
Raymond Carlyle - The Carlyle Touch

im still relatively new to mentalism, have performed to friends but still find really bold moves uncomfortable - would all these DVD's be ok for someone with a little experience, looking to progress?

All are good, but I'd say buy Looch's.

That said, if you're a beginner, I'd recommendeither the Richard Osterlind Easy to Master Mental Miracles series first. His Corinda's 13 Steps is good, too, especially used in conjunction with the book (which you should have, in any case). Docc Hilford's Monster Mentalism series is fun and pretty basic, though maybe a bit too bold for you

Out of those, depends on what you want to do, for sort of general routines, go with Looch. Get Nyman has some great material on, but it's not always usable. I.e in instances where you only have a mic stand or whatever, no table.

I agree with the recomendations for Looch's DVD. It's excellent and the material is practical.

I can not vouch for Carlyle or Looch, although I have heard great things about both, I would recommend Nyman. Top notch material that's easily integrated into a show.

Whatever you do decide on though should be fine as these are three great DVD's.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.
