Balloon guy instructions

Postby mrz0mbie » Jul 5th, '11, 18:03

Evening all,

A few months ago in Manchester at a TM meetup some people made a balloon man, I didn't see who made him but I think its rob holding him in this picture..

Anybody have any info on where I can find some instructions for making a balloon fellow like this one?

Thanks

edit: bad coding for the image

Thanks lawrence I was hoping you'd see this, thought it was you who made him.

Thanks also to beardy for being right on the button and waldorf for forum link.

Is it only made from 260s?

The tash is a 160 the rest is 260s.
You could always do the tash with a 260 (or just not do one) though

I can assure you I did not make that one though, at least I didn't do the face; have you seen how wonky the eyes are? Looks like Rob's work to me!
Definately a Rob shirt holding it too.

edit: I usually put a beard on when I make him too, see my avatar (though that's a balloon of me rather than Ballooni, shame you can't make out the hair in that pic)

Nah it must have the 'tache! I'll have to have a look what colour 160s I have though, he might end up with a blonde muzzy

That ballooni gets around alot doesn't he! I use 260's for the tache. All the models in the ebook use 260's.

Some other balloons I do here

All the best

Tony

Well I bought the e-book a few hours ago and had a not-so quick go at Ballooni. Didn't have any brown balloons left so he turned out blonde, quite pleased with the results thought

Nice work! Try mixing some 160's with the 260's. Works very well for a lower lip. Also think about using a white 160 (which you can bead) to make a groovy set of gnashers...

The main advice I can give you is as always, take the pattern you have and experiment to improve it so it's in your very own style. The more you play about with the balloons the better you'll get!!! :D

Ballooni is fantastic fun and people love him. Here's a "Mr and Mrs" version that I've just started doing...
