Coin Unique Routine

Postby morrowsean » Jul 21st, '11, 17:52

Hi All, im planning on ordering Eddie Gibsons Coin unique tonight £1/1p version. Can someone tell me rather than jst the vanishing penny routine, am i able to change it into another coin? Ive seen this version done before. But as the pound and penny are quite small, im wondering could it still be done?

People ive spoke too have recommended the £1/1p Version by Eddie Gibson, but since doing a bit of browsing, ive noticed Cards4Magic.co.uk do a 10p/2p version but its not by Eddie? Will this make a differance? I fancy the 2p/10p more as they are bigger and probably easier to handle. Any thoughts please?

Cheers!

Do you mean make the penny change into another coin, like a pound and a penny changes into a pound and a 50p ? or like both coins turn into a single different coin ? Either way it can certainly be done.
A nice coin through the table can be done with these sets aswell. Two coins are placed on the table and are slowly covered with the hand, the other hand goes under the table - a little wiggle of the fingers and one of the coins pops through the table. The working should be obvious. If you have a bit of blu-tak it can be set up way in advance and done standing.
A little word of caution though - if youre going to use an extra penny for a coin through table, or any similar effect where you may be tossing the dup onto the table alongside the gimmick, look for an older penny, and shine it up if need be. The newer pennys are too ''attractive'' to do this without giving the game away.

Im afraid i cant answer that - i only have experience with the Eddie Gibson version. Eddies gimmick is fully examinable, and when i say fully examinable i mean the quality is exeptional. Eddie did make the 2p 10p version aswell at one time, but for some reason stopped.

Ok Cheers, think ill go with Eddie. Quality is worth the extra. Goin back to the change, can i have the penny change to say a 10p or does it need to be smaller like a 5p?

I have the Eddie Gibson 2p/10p version, I bought this many years ago and it still works fine. I'm not certain but I think Eddie stopped making them because the newer 2p's were made of a different metal composition which were difficult to machine (though I may be wrong)

I don't have the £1/1p version but I think you could do the coin change with it; there is a routine where the smaller coin is passed back and forth below the larger, on the third time it passes it visually changes to a smaller, different coin.

In my version the 10p changes to a 20p (or 1p if you wish) In the £1 version the 1p could change to a 5p, if the 5p is small enough to fit inside the £1 coin s***l that is. (I hope that wasn't exposure, if it was the mods can edit)

Some of the cheaper versions of 'Coin Unique' can work okay but don't bear close inspection.

I never offer my Eddie Gibson version for inspection anyway, after all, it's 'just a coin'.

Edit : The Gibson coin I bought came with instructions for a number of routines including a great visible penetration of a coin through a drinking glass. I presume the £1 comes with this as well but as I don't have it I'm not certain.
